We’re often asked how two photographers can work together in harmony.  While Ashley and I sometimes see things differently, more often than not, we see things the same.  We have a similar vision and photographic style.  This is probably due to the fact that we each picked up a camera and learned how to shoot together from the beginning, developing our style as we went.  Now, we basically share the same brain.  While downloading cards from a recent wedding, I came across these two images (one from my card and one from her card) and laughed.  Ashley photographed the bride getting ready and I photographed the groom getting ready, and we both ended up shooting their portraits in the same spot but at different times.  These two photos were taken independently, over an hour apart, and with two different lenses:

Hillside HDR

January 15, 2010

So the other day I found this really cool spot in the Sugarloaf Open Space in Walnut Creek.  I thought it would be fun to take some photos at sunset.  This image was made by taking 4 separate exposures and rendering them together to create a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image.  Further color correction and retouching done in Lightroom and then Photoshop.  Enjoy!
